Volunteer

From the wide array of water-themed educational programs and hands-on activities, indoor and outdoor tours, day-to-day visitor services, and even occasional grounds clean-up and gardening assistance, volunteers are critical to the advancement of our work.

All volunteers will be provided detailed training about Fairmount Water Works, its exhibits, environmental messages, history, and architecture.

Tour Guides

Greet visitors and escort them on a guided tour throughout the facility. The commitment is two hours per month, for three months. You’ll be provided detailed training about Fairmount Water Works, its exhibits, environmental messages, history, and architecture.

Education

Help make students’ experience a memorable one! Education volunteers assist environmental educators during lessons and group activities. PA child abuse clearance is required. You may apply for a background check here.
