Volunteer
Join forces with the FWW staff to welcome visitors and lead tours, help with school groups and educational activities, or keep this historic landmark and other Philly public spaces beautiful.
From the wide array of water-themed educational programs and hands-on activities, indoor and outdoor tours, day-to-day visitor services, and even occasional grounds clean-up and gardening assistance, volunteers are critical to the advancement of our work. Download the Volunteer application.
All volunteers will be provided detailed training about Fairmount Water Works, its exhibits, environmental messages, history, and architecture.
Tour Guides
Greet visitors and escort them on a guided tour throughout the facility. The commitment is two hours per month, for three months. You’ll be provided detailed training about Fairmount Water Works, its exhibits, environmental messages, history, and architecture.
Education
Help make students’ experience a memorable one! Education volunteers assist environmental educators during lessons and group activities. Background checks are required. You may apply for a background check here.
