We’re commemorating the 200th anniversary of the opening of one of Philadelphia’s most influential waterways – the Manayunk Canal! Join us for a series of events that take a fascinating look at the canal’s unique history within the city!
Join us Wednesday, March 13 from 6-7:30pm for the “200 Years of Water: The Manayunk Canal 1819-2019”, speakers forum at Venice Island!
Or visit the Interpretive Center during normal operating hours to view a special selection of 19th century engineer’s maps of the Schuylkill Navigation, 20th century B&W photographs, and 21st century color photographs, concentrating on Philadelphia’s two historic canals.
