Musings of Our Interpretive Center Intern
I had the incredible opportunity to have my first Co-Op through Drexel University at the Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center. I had the role of an educational program leader, which allowed me to connect with all kinds of individuals that came through the center. Sadly, my time was cut short due to a needed surgery. However, through my short time, I was able to connect with the amazing co-workers I was surrounded with everyday. These individuals made this Co-Op exceed any expectations I had, made me feel welcomed from day one, and most importantly let me know everyday the work I was contributing to makes a difference in my surrounding community.
To say goodbye, I drew each of my co-workers as a part of the Schuylkill River ecosystem they reminded me of.
Garrett as mussels, as he was always there to help with the heavy duty work.

Raheen as the great blue heron, keeping watch over our facility.
Shareese as an otter, she is a calming force in the flow of our work river.

Stacey as a red-bellied turtle, because she always gets the job done no matter the time.
Karen as a dragonfly, she shows her personality through show but majestic at the same time.

Vicque as cabbage white butterfly over Lyreleaf sage, Smooth aster, and Black-eyed susan, because she brings tranquility to the work space.
Chris as Brook Trout and Bluegill fish, because she is going with the flow but a crucial part of the operations of the Interpretive Center.

Each of these people made my time there unforgettable and I have endless appreciation for all they do.
