Household Hazardous Waste Event

Handling and disposing of hazardous waste materials requires a special set of regulations due to the potential damage they can cause to people, pets and the environment. Residents can bring their hazardous waste to Household Hazardous Waste Events, sponsored by the Philadelphia Streets Department.  

Science Saturday: “Autumnal Color Box: Fall Leaves”

Do you wonder why leaves are green in the spring and summer, but change to red, yellow and orange in the fall? Investigate the different colored pigments in leaves, identify different leaves, and perform an experiment to show how one color is really made up of many different colors.(Sessions run every 30 minutes.)
