Art on the Circuit: “Hydraulica”
“Hydraulica” has “popped up” in front of the Independence Seaport Museum! This public art installation was developed in partnership with Fairmount Water Works to help visitors experience and connect to the river and our watershed.
Alison Stigora‘s commissioned piece Hydraulica, has “popped up” in front of the Independence Seaport Museum! Hydraulica was made possible by generous support from The William Penn Foundation and Philadelphia Water.
The cast resin canopy of the sculpture references the shape, contours and elevation change in Philadelphia’s watershed, while interactive lights and sound provide an immersive experience of water flow. Hydraulica exists to help people connect the activity of their daily lives with the life of the watershed they inhabit.
Be sure to hurry to the Independence Seaport Museum for this special installation!
